| HISTORY |
Many years ago, these scarves were introduced into popular costumes of Viana do Castelo (Minho region). They came with our sailors from their trips through the Danubio in the Austro-Hungarian Empire and they were gifts from them to their beloved. They were so much appreciated by the women from the Minho region, that they were adopted by them and begun being produced in Portugal.
They were worn on the head or on the shoulders. Their patterns are colorful like the landscape of Minho's region and the soul of the People. Floral and paisley motifs are the most common.
